This class studies the theories and techniques of lighting design for the performing arts, but most specifically for dance. Lectures cover the design process, which includes space, script, music and movement score analysis, design collaboration and design execution. Lectures on composition, color and lighting notation drafting and charting) are supplemented with work on productions produced by the Theater and Dance Program, including the Oberlin Dance Company concert in Hall Auditorium.
