MHST 318 - Women Composers: Negotiating a Place Semester Offered: First Semester Credits (Range): 3 Hours This course will cover the careers and works of women composers, primarily of European art music, over the last two hundred years. We will explore both the types of works women compose, and the way in which they present themselves publicly as women and as artists. Emphasis will be on the works and careers of living composers, particularly those residing in or visiting the area. Instructor: C. Macdonald Prerequisites & Notes Open to all second-year and above students, without prerequisite course.
