LATN 320 - The End of the Aeneid Semester Offered: Second Semester Credits (Range): 3 Hours Attribute: 3 HU, CD
Reading and discussion of selections from the last six books of Virgil’s Aeneid. Special attention to the place of the poem in the Augustan art and politics, and in the genre of western heroic literature. Course will be designed to complement the 2008-09 Martin Classical Lectures, to be given February 25-29 by Joseph Farrell of the University of Pennsylvania, which will be focused on the Aeneid. Enrollment Limit: 20. Instructor: T. Van Nortwick Prerequisites & Notes Latin 202 or equivalent.
