LOND 940 - Organizing Nature in British Culture Semester Offered: First Semester Credits (Range): 4 Hours Attribute: 4 HU
Through a study of a variety of texts — museums, maps, plays, parks, landscape paintings, films, gardens, prose, architecture — we will consider the different ways in which nature is understood, ordered, and represented in London and surrounding areas. Readings will include novels as well as philosophical and historical works. Field trips may include Kew Gardens, Hampsted Heath, Hampton Court, and a variety of museums (Tate, Victory & Albert). Instructor: T.S. McMillin Prerequisites & Notes One course in the humanities.
