ENGL 211 - Milton

This course will study Milton’s English poetry in roughly chronological order, with some attention to his prose. The main emphasis will be on Milton’s distinctive poetic vision, though there will be considerable attention to his literary, intellectual, and religious environment and to recent New Historical, feminist, and post-structural interpretations of his writing. Nature of Text. British, Pre-1700. Enrollment limit: 30.
