This is a one week class beginning September 23, 2007.  An introduction to the Politics of the Middle East through an analysis of the Arab-Israeli Conflict. Topics: Early 20th Century Historical, Political, and Socio-Economic Roots of the Conflict; The Palestine Dilemma at the United Nations; The Cold War Era; The Rise of Arab Military Regimes and the Arab Cold War; and Peace Initiatives in the 20th Century.
