Taught in English. This course examines the traditional, expressive dimensions of culture in the Hispanic world: Latin America, the Caribbean and Latino/a U.S. Folklore methods and theories are employed in the study of folk music, dance, drama, foodways, carnival, belief systems, art, dress, etc. Slides, sound and film recordings, material culture and printed matter support the readings.
