In this course we will explore an overview of the basic elements which have shaped the United States presence in Latin America and the way in which Latin America has been represented in the United States from the early nineteenth century to the present day, exploring both official (public) policy as well as the impact of corporations and the market, ideology, cultural representations, the media, and others.
