This course explores the ways that humans have shaped the environment and that the environment has shaped human history from ancient times to the present. Each week will focus on one question with relevance to contemporary environmental issues. including: religion and ecology, the environmental impact of imperialism, the origins of environmentalism, and population pressure, among others.
