RELG 103 - Introduction to Religion: Living Religion Semester Offered: Second Semester Credits (Range): 3 hours Attribute: 3HU, CD, WR
This course focuses on “lived religion” and the ways in which we can try to understand it. Instead of starting with religious texts per se, we will try to come to terms with the things that people do and experience – with ritual, pilgrimage, and mystical moments. The traditions examined will include Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, and Christianity, with reference to other traditions as well. Along the way, students will be introduced to important concepts from the academic study of religion. Enrollment limit: 35. Instructor: L. McMillin
