MUTH 100 - Intensive Aural Skills

Development of aural understanding through singing, conducting, improvisation, and listening. The melodic line, simple two-line combinations, rhythmic phrases, scales and triads, tonic predominate and dominant arpeggiation, diatonic intervals, simple and compound meters, treble and bass clefs, cadences, phrases, sentences and periods. Preference given to students for whom aural skils is a required subject. Class meets three days per week.

Corequisite: MUTH 130 or 131.
