Have you ever wondered what makes wild rice wild? Or why dogs bark but wolves don’t? This course will cover the domestication of species by humans, from cattle and corn to dogs and cats. We will discuss the process of domestication and how it has influenced the evolution and spread of humans. Other possible topics include genetic engineering and the meaning of ‘natural’ and ‘artificial’ with respect to species. Instructor: A. Roles
