EAST 262 - Asia’s Modern Wars This course may also count for the major in (consult the program or department major requirements) : Anthropology Next Offered: 2011-2012 Semester Offered: Second Semester Credits (Range): 3 hours Attribute: 3 SS, CD, WR This course will examine the relationship between war and nation-building in East Asia, focusing particularly on the question of how war—and the discourse about war—has shaped modern Chinese, Korean and Japanese identities. The aim of this course is to provide students with a comprehensive background of Chinese, Korean and Japanese modern national and diplomatic history through the study of Asia’s modern wars.
