HIST 107 - Russian History I This course may also count for the major in (consult the program or department major requirements) : Russian and East European Studies Semester Offered: First Semester Credits (Range): 3 hours Attribute: 3SS, CD, WR An introductory survey of Russian history from earliest times to the mid-19th c. Beginning with an overview of the Kievan Rus and the Mongol overlordship, we will explore the diverse influences of the steppe, Orthodox Christianity, and `the west’ on the nature of the Muscovite and Imperial Russian state, the relationship between state and society, the formation of national and imperial identities, and dominant cultural values.
