HIST 162 - Cultures and Peoples of Ancient India Semester Offered: First Semester Credits (Range): 3 hours Attribute: 3SS, CD Surveys the development of South Asian civilization from its origins to the beginnings of the European conquest (c. 2500 BCE-1700 CE). This course has as its fundamental concerns the several competing social, religious, and political institutions within Indian civilization including those of the aboriginal, Vedic-Hindu, Buddhist and Islamic traditions.
