POLT 334 - Seminar: Theories of Justice and Democracy in Contemporary America This course may also count for the major in (consult the program or department major requirements) : Law and Society Semester Offered: Second Semester Credits (Range): 3 hours Attribute: 3SS This seminar discusses some of the most important recent and contemporary American political theories, focusing on controversies about the nature of justice and the scope and extent of democracy in a political society of plurality and difference. Various approaches to political theory are represented, including the work of Rawls, Nozick, Walzer, Connolly, Young and others. Consent of instructor required.
