RELG 105 - Introduction to Religion: Bodily Disciplines and Transcendence Semester Offered: Second Semester Credits (Range): 3 hours Attribute: 3HU, CD This course explores the many and various ways in which religious traditions engage bodies in the service of personal transcendence. Primary attention is given to Judaism, Christianity and Buddhism, though practices from other traditions are also examined. Readings include primary and secondary source material as well as critical discussions of the body and bodily practices in the contemporary study of religion and other fields.
