RELG 217 - Christianity in the Early Medieval World: 150-1100 Semester Offered: First Semester Credits (Range): 3 hours Attribute: 3HU An interpretive study of the development of Christianity in the Greek east and Latin west, this course will focus on early medieval articulations of the relationship between God and the world through debates on corporeality, evil, martyrdom, asceticism, knowledge of God, and salvation. These debates will be contextualized and conceptualized through the historical developments of monasticism, mysticism, iconography, Christology, heresy, and Christianity as an imperial religion.
