RELG 305 - Biblical Biographies Told and Retold Semester Offered: Second Semester Credits (Range): 3 hours Attribute: 3HU, WR Topic for 2010-11: Biblical Biographies Told and Retold. This course traces the inter-textual development of the biographies of six biblical men and women as their stories are expanded through translation and retelling. The textual traditions examined include the Masoretic Hebrew text, the Greek Septuagint, the Aramaic targums, and the Pseudepigrapha. The biblical figures covered include: the primordial couple, Adam and Eve; the unloved wife Leah and her unchosen son Levi; and King David and his foreign grandmother, Ruth.
