RELG 343 - Selected Topics in Modern and Contemporary Religious Thought: God Semester Offered: First Semester Credits (Range): 3 hours Attribute: 3HU, WR A critical analysis of a significant problem in modern and contemporary religious thought, examined through the writings of selected philosophers of religion and theologians. Topic for 10-11: The Being and Nature of God. This seminar focuses on questions about the being and nature of God in light of: current scientific theories about the origins of the universe and evolution; debates regarding an adequate ecological theology, the problem of evil (theodicy), and the challenge of global interreligious dialogue among theist and nontheist philosophers and religious thinkers.
