SOCI 250 - Sociology of Popular Culture Semester Offered: First Semester Credits (Range): 3 Hours Attribute: 3 SS This course focuses on the relationship between popular culture, media, and society, and provides an overview of social structure, content, audiences and effects. Culture is discussed in relation to its institutional, economic, and social contexts. The course examines a variety of popular cultural forms (e.g., music, film, and sports) and looks closely at media production and consumption as cultural practices.
