THEA 222 - Introduction to Design Next Offered: Fall 2011 Semester Offered: First Semester Credits (Range): 3 hours Attribute: 3HU An introduction to designing for the performing arts. Lectures and readings explore the design process, and projects exercise the designer’s fundamental tools in creating the visual world of a performance. Goals of the course include understanding the designer’s role in collaboration, communicating a design vision and experimenting with the design process to develop a full expression of creative ideas. Text analysis and concept are also covered from a visual perspective. A preliminary course to further studies in scene, costume or lighting design.
