RELG 229 - Contemporary Religious Thought in the Americas Semester Offered: First Semester Credits (Range): 3 hours Attribute: 3HU This course offers a survey of progressive contemporary Christian thought in the Americas, encompassing a plurality of efforts to liberate from and get beyond modernity while, at the same time, attending to that which lay hidden from and hidden by modern thought: e.g., the body, nature, women and other “others.” Authors to be considered include: Enrique Dussel, Ivone Gebara, Catherine Keller, Rita Nakashima Brock, Kwok Pui-Lan, Mark Taylor, Monica Coleman and Sharon Betcher.
