African American Politics is an intermediate-level course that examines the traditions of political engagement by the African American community. The course will discuss the major figures, movements and events of the African American political tradition. Specifically the course interrogates ideological, formal and informal political movements and the historic and contemporary effect of Public Policy on African American life.
