Working within an interdisciplinary framework, we will explore the ways in which academic scholars have theorized and represented the everyday life of Latinas/os in the Midwest. Historically and contemporaneously, we will study the formation and transformation of various Latina/o communities in the Midwest. We will discuss how scholarship on Latinas/os in the Midwest has contributed and shaped theoretical understandings of Latinidades and the field of Latina/o Studies, more broadly. Field trip Required.
