This course provides students with a semester-long experience working twice a week with incarcerated men at Grafton Correctional Camp including an additional group reflection meeting held at Oberlin. Grafton and Oberlin students further their critical literacy skills and historical knowledge by participating in organizing and co-teaching two courses, one on Autobiography, the other on Prison Literature. A variety of content, teaching and writing methodologies and theoretical viewpoints will be explored. A final written project is required. Travel to Grafton Correctional Camp is required. Enrollment Limit: 15 Instructor: P. Brooks Consent of the Instructor Required: Yes Prerequisites & Notes AAST 220; or a particular 200-level course in AAST or CAST.
