Medieval and Renaissance literature is full of madmen, monsters, and devils’ sons. We will consider how such figures blur the lines between ability and disability. We will also ask how they challenge premodern and modern expectations about what it means to be human. No previous experience with Middle English is required. British, Diversity, Pre-1700.
