ANTH 258 - Environment and Revolution in the Middle East

This experiential class provides a foundation in the anthropology of environment. The class examines first how “environment” has become politically and socially meaningful in various countries of the Middle East in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries and, second, how environmental ideologies produced in this process have broader political and economic effects in the region. Students will correspond directly with regional environmental leadership via Skype and will work collaboratively to publish their research on Wikipedia. Enrollment Limit:25 Instructor: B. Guarasci
