This research seminar interrogates the issue of global water privatization, accessibility, and affordability since the 1970s. We will engage theories of political ecology and environmentalism of the poor to examine how the ecological and general health of vulnerable populations (socially, economically, and politically) has been compromised by persistent water scarcity. The seminar is designed for any student who is interested in topics including the interplay between power, globalization, and the politics of environmental governance.
