HIST 485 - The Past and Future of Higher Education

This course will examine the past promises of U.S. higher education and investigate the forces shaping its future. We will explore the ideals of a liberally educated public, the role of public education in a privatized world, the challenges of new pedagogies and technologies to traditional modes of educational delivery, the student debt crisis, and how to construct an integrated educational model. This discussion-based course will be open to students, faculty, and alumni.
