POLT 276 - Women and Politics Semester Offered: First Semester Full Course Credits: 4 credits Attribute: 4SS
This course is an introduction to the study of women as participants in, and subjects of politics, policy, and political systems in the US, both historically and contemporarily. We examine women’s incorporation into governmental institutions and political processes, then move to a critical analytic examination of racism, heterosexism, and classism in the women’s movement. We cover issues of equality, difference, and justice through various themes, including welfare, reproductive rights, gendered violence, and sexuality. Enrollment Limit: 25 Instructor: Staff
