This course offers an overview of different scholarly approaches used in the disciplines of the social sciences and the humanities in order to analyze sexuality, sexual practices and sexual subcultures in various historical and cultural contexts. Readings cover a wide range of methods, including psychoanalytical approaches, social constructionism, historicism, de-construction and unhistoricism.
