A study of music based on the principles of Emile Jaques-Dalcroze that engages the moving body to develop the perception of rhythm, melody, phrasing, and form. Other emphases include internalization of the rhythmic sense, development of precision in ensemble work and of physical coordination as it applies to the student’s performing medium. The class focuses on three components: movement-to-music, solfege-eurhythmics, and improvisation. Enrollment Limit: 12 Instructor: G.
