PACE 104 - String Pedagogy Next Offered: First Offered Fall 2017 & Spring 2018 Semester Offered: First & Second Semester HC Credits: 2 Credits Attribute: CNDP
This one-semester course is intended as an introduction to string pedagogy. The primary focus of the course will be teaching the beginner student. Topics will include the history and philosophy of string pedagogy, and how it influences contemporary teaching. Techniques appropriate to the advancing musician will include a healthy set-up, resources for building technique, and the development of musicianship. This course will be comprised of a mix of classroom lecture and regular observation of Community Music School lessons. Enrollment Limit: 12 Instructor: L. Zeitlin Prerequisites & Notes This class is intended for string performance majors. Musical Studies majors who are interested in teaching will also be considered.
