SOCI 403 - Seminar in Social Psychology: African-American Personality Semester Offered: Second Semester Full Course Credits: 4 credits Attribute: 4SS, CD, WADV
This seminar critically examines the theoretical and research literature on the study of African American in psychology. Specific attention is given to; the various theoretical debates on African American psychology; discussions on African American self-concept; the impact of family and education on African American psychology; and issues of minority personality assessment.

Consent of the Instructor Required: Yes Prerequisites & Notes: Three courses in sociology or African American Studies or consent of instructor. Preference is given to senior sociology and AAST majors. This course may also count for the major in (consult the program or department major requirements) : Africana Studies
