HISP 309 - Survey of Spanish Literature I: Historias Sentimentales Semester Offered: Second Semester Full Course Credits: 4 credits Attribute: 4HU, CD
This survey of early modern Spanish literature and culture focuses on how different subjects interacted with space according to their political, religious, and gendered positions. We will ask questions such as: What is presented as an accessible or inaccessible space? Who inhabits it? What kinds of socio-spatial networks are produced amongst inhabitants of Spanish territories? How do these change? Our inquiry will benefit from visits to the Allen Art Museum and the Library’s Special Collections. Taught in Spanish.
