This course serves as an orientation to Oberlin College and the Brenda Grier-Miller Scholars Program. It is designed to give students who are the first in their families to attend college support as they transition to Oberlin, and includes discussion about Oberlin’s academic expectations and campus culture. Students will have opportunities to engage with other first-generation students, faculty, and staff, and will participate in activities that allow them to explore their academic and personal strengths, as well as opportunities for growth. The course is limited to BGM Scholars.
