JWST 224 - The Israeli-Palestinian Conflict Semester Offered: Second Semester Full Course Credits: 4 credits Attribute: 4SS
How did the Israeli-Palestinian conflict develop, why has a peaceful resolution so far eluded Palestinian and Israeli negotiators, and where is the conflict going? This course equips students with the tools to answer these question through deep analysis of the historical trajectory of the conflict, by giving voice to both Palestinian and Israeli perspectives and narratives on how the conflict developed, and why it persists, and by incorporating an array of research in political science on nationalism, political violence, terrorism, territory, collective memory, and identity.
