POLT 256 - Environmental Political TheoryFC SSCI 4 credits What do political theorists have to say about the `natural’ world and how helpful are they given our need to confront environmental concerns? How do more recent developments in social thought go beyond canonical insights? In this course we will pursue answers to these and other questions by reading key canonical authors, their critics, and more recent attempts to grapple with ideas like citizenship, agency, justice, and democracy in light of increased environmental awareness.
