ENGL 220 - British Romantic Literature in EnglandFC ARHU WINT 4 credits English Romantic writers considered the early 19th century to be as exciting and as dangerous as the new force of electricity. This course studies Keats, the Shelleys, Byron, Blake, Wordsworth, Coleridge, Austen, and others as prophets in this age of crisis, asking such questions as: what does it mean to be human? how do we change? what do we desire? how do we relate to the natural world? why does writing matter, and to whom? British, 1700-1900.
