NSCI 339 - Developmental NeurobiologyFC NSMA 4 credits This course covers cellular and molecular mechanisms that are used to form the nervous system in time and space. Topics include neural induction, polarity/segmentation, cell lineage and migration, axon guidance, cell death, synaptogenesis, and behavioral development. This highly interactive course seeks to enable students to develop their scientific skills by analyzing recent studies in developmental neurobiology, producing investigative reports on neurodevelopmental disorders, designing experiments through grant writing, and applying personal interests beyond the classroom.
Prerequisites & Notes: NSCI 201 or consent of instructor. BIOL 213 recommended.
