SOCI 422 - Seminar: Racism & Inequality in the United States: Alernative PerspectivesFC SSCI CD 4 credits As measured in a wide variety of ways, socio-economic inequality between non-Hispanic Whites on the one hand and African Americans and Latina/os on the other, is vast. This seminar will critically assess a range of works that employ different methodological approaches (e.g., qualitative, quantitative, longitudinal) and analytical emphases (e.g., economic, political, cultural) in order to understand this inequality. Some older but still indispensable works will be examined, but recent research will be the focus.
