SOCI 428 - Beyond the Schoolhouse Gate: Schools, Rights, and Education PolicyFC SSCI CD 4 credits Journalists, pundits, and politicians often suggest that schools can remedy a host of problems from economic inequality, racial and gender discrimination, and promote civic inclusion. In short, when the U.S. seeks to address a social problem, schools are often charged with the solution. Yet, schools are also the site of many struggles.
