FYSP 024 - Justice in America?FC SSCI CD WINT 4 credits This seminar explores the origins and historically changing notions of justice that have been foundational to narratives of U.S. national identity. How have differing concepts of justice informed people’s perceptions of rights, liberty, community responsibilities, and the role of the state? We will interrogate theoretical concepts such as social justice, restorative justice, and transformative justice through historical case studies that illuminate the promises and limitations of these terms.
