DANC 270 - Queer Gestures - Dance & Performance

How can queerness be explored through the lens of movement and
performance? In this critical inquiry course, we will examine how the
intersections of creative practice, live performance, feminist, gender, and
sexuality studies, and postcolonial scholarship ask us to contend with competing notions of the body, environment, and performance. Students will engage with the material through a range of embodied reflections. The class structure will also include reading, watching, analyzing, and writing about live and mediated performance.
