LATN 333 - Latin BucolicFC ARHU CD WADV 4 credits Poetry set in rustic nature and urban desires projected onto fantasies of poetry provide the generic stage of our readings of Latin bucolic. We will focus on Vergil’s Eclogues, and explore that work’s relationship to other Latin pastoral, such as Catullus, Tibullus, Horace, and Martial; we will also look at silver-age and renaissance pastoral.
Prerequisites & Notes: Latin 202 or equivalent
