ARTS 029 - Intermediate Moldmaking & Casting

Moldmaking and casting will form the locus of this technique-heavy course. Students will obtain the skills necessary to create: 2-part mold, waste molds, and rubber molds. Casting techniques using plaster and wax are covered, in addition to learning how to create a finish on final casts. Students are responsible for a series of final projects, one research presentation, and participation in a select number of the Art Department’s Artist’s Lecture Series. Field trips required.
