CAST 208 - Which American Life?FC ARHU 4 credits This course offers a tour of the Americas that radio and podcasts have made. We will examine the radio as a medium and meeting place for activists, artists, corporations, demagogues, djs, journalists, religious figures, and scientists aiming to mobilize, entertain, enrage, inform, and study American publics. Students will be encouraged to think critically about what we’re doing when we tune into (or tune out) certain kinds of sounds, paying special attention to how identity is made audible.
