FCARHU4 credits The art of Northern Europe from 1300 to 1500. In addition to major artists like Pucelle, van Eyck and Fouquet, the course will consider devotional art, the relation of realism to symbolism, the emergence of oil painting and printing, courtly and civic patronage, and the structure of artistic production.
