ARBC 101OC - Beginning Arabic IFC ARHU CD 4 credits This course provides a thorough introduction to Arabic language and culture and presumes no previous knowledge of Arabic. The course begins with the alphabet and number system and engages students in reading, writing, speaking, and listening on a range of topics such as self-identification, family, travel, food, housing, study, weather, and others. By the end of the semester, students will have reached the Novice Mid/High level of proficiency in Arabic based on the ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines. Students at this level will be able to communicate in speaking and writing about a number of familiar topics. This course will include required field trips. HIST 207OC is required for this learning community. Prerequisites & Notes: Designed for beginners with no previous study of Arabic. This course is appropriate for new students.
